Green Street

I was originally approached by New America Media to create an event poster for a green car show they were producing for the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. The event was to be targeted to “Fast and Furious” and Lowrider auto enthusiast groups. I quickly realized they needed more than a poster if the event was going to resonate with car enthusiasts.

I named the events “Green Street” and consulted with New America on the best mix of car clubs and alternative technology groups to include in the event. Show goers were also able to visit booths that featured green car cleaning products and fuel saving tips. Participants included Mercedes Benz with their hydrogen fuel cell car, Bay Area electric car clubs and film maker Chris Payne of “Who Killed the Electric Car” fame.

Outreach for the event included a MySpace page that enthusiast groups used to spread the word about the shows in Fresno and San Jose. In addition to the event posters and flyers, I created animated banner advertising.

The event exceeded the clients expectations and created a great deal of media buzz and was featured on local TV in both markets.
